If you have short hair and are having trouble deciding how to style it, try these 3 simple and effortless updos to give your hairstyle some life! Even though you only have a little bit of hair, these easy updos will ensure that your style stands out from the crowd. And if you don’t feel like getting fancy, just pull your hair back in a ponytail or high bun! No one will notice the difference! Here are 3 simple and effortless updos for short hair.

1) Braided Bun

This is one of the easiest updos for short hair. Section your hair into three sections from front to back, pull all three sections over your shoulders, then braid them loosely before tying off with an elastic band. Next, gather all your braids together and tie them off with a few pins at the bottom to create a braided bun. Lastly, tease out any volume you’d like at your roots to frame your face. Easy peasy! If you want to see it in action, check out Zoe Saldana’s gorgeous example here. It’s not as tight as we typically wear our hair, but there are plenty of pictures to help you recreate her look if that’s what you prefer. We love how effortless it looks while still being pretty enough for work or school. Just don’t forget to add some texture spray or sea salt spray on top of your head before gathering everything up so that it doesn’t look too flat or matronly.

2) Updo with Bun and Hair Accessories

To make an eren yeager hair, style your hair into a half up-half down bun, securing it with your favorite pins. While looking in a mirror, part a 3 to 5 inch section of hair off to one side. Secure it in place by backcombing on top of it. Continue wrapping hairs around your fingers until you have them all secured in place. Add small decorative hair accessories or flowers as you wish. Now you can use bobby pins to pin any loose pieces behind your ears and you’re done! Enjoy your new eren yeager hairstyle!

Not enough time? No problem! If you don’t have much time but still want to look beautiful, just put some soft curls on your tresses using a curling iron. Then secure them using bobby pins so they stay put throughout the day.

3) Side Braid with Ponytail

When you have just a little bit of extra time to get ready in the morning, but want to look polished at work, try a side braid with a ponytail. This simple style can be achieved by following these steps: pull hair back into a low ponytail at your nape; separate two strands of hair out on each side of your face; take one strand from each side and begin braiding until you reach your desired length of braid; tie off with an elastic band or scarf. Voilà! You’re done!
